How to Play

Play Beach Mahjong online for free. Beach Mahjong is a summer fun-themed Mahjong Solitaire game. Pair identical stones to remove them from the stack. Clear the entire stack before the level's timer runs out & play through 12 fun levels. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.
Select Help to learn the game’s rules.
Select High Scores to view the game’s leaderboard.
Use the drop-down list on the bottom left corner of the screen to choose the game’s language.
Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - With your mouse, left click to select the stones.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - Tap on the stones with your fingers to select them.
    - Controls and indicators
      - The game’s controls and indicators are located at the right side of the screen. From the top, they are as follows:
        Level number
        Cumulative game score
        Level timer
        Pause button
        Enlarge button: Lets you switch between windowed and full-screen modes
        Hint button
        Shuffle button
        Speaker button: Turns the game’s audio effects on and off
        Music button: Turns the game’s music on and off
        Game Play
        Levels
        Levels are unlocked sequentially:
        Only the first level is playable at the start of the game.
        Finishing one level automatically unlocks the next one.
        There are 12 levels in the game.
        You can’t replay previously beat levels without starting the game over at the first level.
        Each time you reload the game, you have 2 options:
        Continue from the last level you’ve unlocked.
        Start a new playthrough. This will erase your previous progress.
        Basic rules
        Select a pair of identical beach-themed Mahjong stones to remove them from the stack.
        Tiles can feature surfboards, sailboats, cocktails, sea shells, lighthouses, beach chairs, beach balls, donuts, suntan lotion, palm trees, starfish, fish, and more.
        Some tiles show multiple of an item on them. You must match the identical tiles with the same quantity of the same item.
        You can only pair free stones.
        Free stones have no stone above them and at least one side (left or right) without an adjacent stone.
        In this game, free stones are tinted white, while non-free stones are tinted purple.
        Autoshuffle
        If no valid matches remain the board is automatically shuffled.
        This means at least one valid match is always available until the level is completed.
        Automated shuffles do not cost you points.
        Clear the entire stack before the level’s timer expires.
        You start with 7 minutes on the clock on the first level.
        Later levels have a shorter time limit, with the timer decreasing 20 seconds per stage.
        You fail the level if you don’t clear all the stones in time.
        If you want, you can opt to try the level again.
        Otherwise, you can end your playthrough. This lets you save your score in the leaderboard.
        Scoring
        Scoring is cumulative in this game. Your score from one level carries over to the next.
        Every pair of tiles you clear adds 95 points to your score.
        After finishing, you also receive 30 points for every second remaining on the timer.
        There are 2 ways to save your score:
        Play through all 12 levels.
        End the playthrough after a game over.
        Assistance
        If you’re ever stuck, you can use hints and shuffles to help you out.
        You have an unlimited number of hints and shuffles.
        Selecting the hint button will show you any valid pair of tiles.
        Shuffles rearrange the stones on the stack.
        This is useful if you want to make more obvious pairs available.
        The game automatically shuffles the stack with no point penalty if you run out of moves.
        However, hints and manual shuffles cost points. Use them sparingly.
        Hints cost 100 points.
        Manual shuffles cost 500 points.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Solitaire tile match games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
